10 metre air pistol is an Olympic event. Shooters use a .177 calibre pellet pistol, with top-quality guns costing as much as a .22LR match pistol. Most are powered by compressed air or CO2 and load a single pellet at a time.
Men have up to 105 minutes to fire 60 shots, while women fire 40 shots within a 75 minute limit. In most respects, air pistol is very similar to shooting free pistol in terms of difficulty and rules.
Arnprior has a separate target system for air pistol set up at the 10 metre line which swings out on brackets from either side of the range.
